If you are selling/or thinking of selling your Business why use a Real Estate Agent they only do what you can do, so why pay them! Use Aorata as your Marketing tool couple wtih a few newspaper adds as a cross reference, thats all you need.
Have a good 2/3 page Brochure done with lots of photos to send out.
You will get lots of enquires! but with the guidance of Aorata's format sheet you will soon learn to sift out the genuine enquiries from the "tyre kickers". The two main points to check early.
1. You need a "residencey Visa" to Buy a Business in N.Z for Overseas enquires they are not easy or quick to obtain.
2. Check potential buyers have capital/equity. Banks don't lend money on dreams. Good luck!

Following the successful sale recently of two businesses on behalf of clients through Aorata, I was very impressed with the whole process of advertising clients business’s for sale with your company. The setup process is straightforward and costs were very reasonable which was a bonus. We merely onbilled the cost to our clients as a disbursement. We particularly like the idea that computer savvy people could setup their own webpage at a reduced cost compared with the full package. Your website was very easy to navigate with great feedback information available to business sellers on people perusing the website. Aorata was very effective for us resulting in two quick sales for clients – we had tried other forms of advertising and did not receive any positive responses and the relative cost seemed excessive. Both sales were made to parties outside of the immediate area, one from distant overseas. We found the Aorata website created all the interest we hoped for. Enquiries came from the UK, Singapore, Japan, Spain, Australia and within New Zealand. The site enabled us to describe what the motel consisted off via the photographs and the write-up, and the interested buyers were able to contact us directly. Although we sold our interest after twelve years we had made the odd attempt to sell but pulled back a few times when we couldn’t decide what path to take next. The motel created a good income and a comfortable place to be. However when we finally bit the bullet and decided what to do next the motel lease was sold in a matter of months.
We were listed with a couple of agents who filtered out those who didn’t stand a chance because of their financial position. We also had our share, via the Aorata site, and they probably made up 50% of all our enquiries.
During our last months we had both agents bringing clients to the motel but we also had our own buyer in the pipeline. Aorata.com only charged for the site advertising but the agen’s commission fees amounted to around $23000.00 for a successful sale. We would have had to load the asking price to account for that or lose $23000 from our asking price. Businesses attract a commission rate of 6% against a commission of 3.5 to 4% for residential property. As it turned out the buyers had the benefit of a fair asking price without a commission. Thanks for your email & call yesterday which I was trying to answer but got to busy.
We are finalising the sale by the end of the month to a very old friend of ours who worked for us in our first Hamilton SYHO 25 years ago!! He was living in Germany the last 12 years and saw out ad on your website and had no idea we we were back in the shop! Small world eh!
