The Sale and Transfer of Ownership This is a unique opportunity in Fiji, where the expat owners own 100% of the business. Changes in Fiji law a few years ago meant any new business starting up has to be at least 50% owned by a Fijian citizen which makes it more difficult for expats to establish a new business. With Marine Power & Services Ltd being established in 2001 (before the law changed) the opportunity exists for new owners (both expats or locals) and be able to own 100% of the business. There are a couple of options offered in the sale of this business. The current owners preferably would like to find a purchaser(s) who will buy the business in it’s entirety, however they are open to interested parties who which to part purchase and operate the business. The latter option is only offered if the purchaser takes day to day control of the operations of the business allowing the current owner to retire in time. Here are some suggested options: Option 1: (preferable) Sell the business outright Option 2: Part purchase and take day to day control of the business The owners are realistic and flexible and open to other options that a purchaser may propose, so if you are interested simply talk with Dave the owner directly.
