Turangi has a permanent population of approx 4000 people and is a popular holiday destination for New Zealanders and overseas visitors. Taupo 50kms north is a larger town but Turangi can supply most daily needs. Close to Lake Taupo , the Tongariro River, the mountains of the Tongariro National and World Heritage Park, Turangi is a wonderful place to live.
