A little bit of country in the city

Rotorua is New Zealand's fifth most popular holiday destination.

Rotorua is particularly popular with Kiwi travellers and the domestic visitor market has continued to grow in spite of the current global recession. Also, Wotif.com has shown that in 2008, the city’s popular attractions such as The Agrodome and Polynesian Spa continue to draw large visitor numbers.

Many visitors to Rotorua are looking for something special and many find their dream at Westminster Lodge. This quality Bed and Breakfast business with its self-catering and farmstay options is just 7 minutes from Rotorua city centre. Rotorua

Rotorua is famous for its scenic lakes, extensive forests, geothermal geysers, belching mud pools, hot pools, and the ever-present smell of sulphur in the air. The city has long history with both national and international travellers as a premier tourist destination.

Rotorua City sprawls along the southern edge of Lake Rotorua, with Ngongotaha on the western shore. The lake is stocked with brown and rainbow trout, some of which grow to record sizes. Other fresh water lakes in the area offer a pristine wilderness experience with native bush growing right to the water’s edge.

Rotorua is the heartland of New Zealand's Maori culture, where the Arawa people have lived, worked and played for more than six centuries. Visitors can experience Maori culture and food cooked in a traditional earthen oven. The Polynesian Spa and Rotorua Museum of Art and History are popular places to visit.

Visitors to Rotorua can enjoy a host of activities and attractions from sightseeing to adrenaline pumping adventures. Highlights include experiencing New Zealand farm life at the Agrodome, a thrilling 4WD drive through native bush, white water rafting, mountain biking on some of the world’s best tracks, rolling downhill in the Zorb or on a luge, and lots more.
