Taihape Hardware, Sports & Furniture is a "one stop" general retail store located on the Main Street of Taihape, midway between Palmerston North (117 km) and Taupo township (142 km). Taihape Hardware, Sports & Furniture is one of the largest shops in Taihape with the entire frontage being on State Highway 1, also being the main street, in the best location. Every year, over 3 million vehicles pass the front entrance to this retail shop.

Taihape, the town that has something for everyone

Taihape is a country town in northern Rangitikei District that services an enormous rural area, principally of sheep, beef, and deer farms. Plantation forestry is also an important component to the region.

Taihape is an important food and petrol stop for travellers from Wellington going to and from the skifields on Mt Ruapehu (45 minutes) and the fishing and boating at Lake Taupo (60 minutes). The town provides a New World Supermarket, Four Square Grocery, MacDonalds, KFC, Subway, Liquorland Express, and BP and Mobile service stations.

The town (population between 2000 and 3000 people) offers a relaxed lifestyle where families can enjoy all that is good about New Zealand.
