Seven cabins have a double bed and a set of bunks, one cabin has double bed only, and one cabin has a double bed plus a set of bunks and 2 single beds. All cabins have duvets and pillows.

Rawene and the Hokianga Harbour

In recent years, tourism has become a significant industry to the Hokianga region. Attractions such as, the great kauri trees of the Waipoua Forest (including the country's tallest tree, Tane Mahuta), the historic waterfront villages of Kohukohu and Rawene, and the Wairere Boulders, are bringing more and more visitors every year.

Rawene is 15 minutes from the beaches at Opononi and Omapere. A vehicle ferry links Rawene with Kohukohu, providing alternative Twin Coast links to the north and Ahipara (the southern end of Ninety Mile Beach). Rawene is one hour east of KeriKeri and the Bay of Islands and Auckland is only 300 km away on the Twin Coast Highway Route 12.

Rawene offers much to see and do including fishing, swimming, and boating on the Hokianga Harbour. Others relax on the beach, take a harbour cruise, go on a horse trek, or catch the water taxi to the sand hills across the harbour to try sand boarding. The shallow waters around Rawene become mud flats at low tide and feature beaches of mangroves. Mangroves provide a very important role in the ecology of the Hokianga Harbour and a boardwalk has been constructed to take visitors on a tour through the mangroves.
