Rosetown Te Awamutu

Te Awamutu is a picturesque town in south-central Waikato, just 29km from Hamilton. The town has a population of about 8,500 with another 2,000 people living nearby (5 km) at Kihikihi. The town offers a true country welcome with no traffic lights or parking meters.

Many visitors come to see the Te Awamutu Rose Gardens with its attractive displays of over 50 rose varieties. Others come for the Te Awamutu Scream Rosetown Festival (in November each year) or to enjoy the town's excellent sporting facilities including three golf courses, a racecourse and a rugby sports centre.

The countryside around Te Awamutu is particularly fertile with many large prosperous dairy farms along with beef cattle, sheep, and deer farming. Mystery Creek - venue for the famous Field Days as well as large conventions and other events - is only 15 km away.
