Academy Motor Lodge was established in 1971 on Creyke Road within the exclusive suburb of Fendalton.

  • Option 2:
    Purchase the freehold title to all nine residential properties that surround Academy Motor Lodge.
  • Option 3:

Academy Motor Lodge and Licensed Restaurant

The Motel comprises 23 luxury self-contained units in two main accommodation buildings:

  • Studio, One and Two Bedroom Units sleeping 1-6 people
  • (Additional accommodation as 1, 2 and 3-bedroom Townhouses is available within the surrounding properties that are owned by the business)

Kitchen facilities in Units include stove with oven, bench-top hot plates, microwave oven, refrigerator, toaster, crockery and cutlery, table and chairs.

Freehold property in the heart of exclusive Fendalton

Academy Motor Lodge is built on two titles (2731 square metres) at 62 Creyke Road in Fendalton, Christchurch's top suburb. The Motel buildings are constructed of low-maintenance concrete block walls on concrete floors with stained timber cladding on the upper level, and tiled roofs. Interior walls are painted and floor coverings are a mix of carpet with vinyl in wet areas. There is a separate staff toilet, ample storage space, and off-street parking for guest's cars.

Motel Office and Reception:
The main office has computer, printer, software, phone, fax, and Eftpos terminal.

Licensed Restaurant:
The Restaurant seats up to 40 diners and is open 7 days for breakfast and diner and a lunch service on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. All fittings, fixtures and chattels in the restaurant are in good working order and are included in the business sale.

Additional Accommodation:
There are four additional rooms with ensuite facilities on the second floor of the restaurant building. Each room sleeps 1-2 people. They are ideal as extra rooms for overflow guests, especially from the University.

Fully equipped on-site laundry for all linen and towels.

Manager's Residence:
The residence at the far end of Lot 64 (see the aerial image below) is unlike any other with an extremely large open plan lounge-dining area. It includes a bar with a wonderful outlook to the salt-water pool and courtyard. There are three downstairs bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite. There is also a separate bathroom downstairs.
